From the Exhibition Catalogue:

Jason Zimmerman’s film, "The Demolition", documents the systematic dismantling of a suburban mansion in order to clear land for a new development on the outskirts of Washington, DC. The idyllic setting and this destructive event represent strong contrasts that, when considered together, pose many questions about the family unit, protection and security, as well as the ideals set forth by the “American Dream”. Similarly, Zimmerman illustrates an endless struggle in his film, "Fair Game". To do this, he has extracted foot-pursuit scenes from more than one hundred and forty episodes of the TV show, COPS, and edited them into one continuous loop. Zimmerman’s perpetual and frenetic chase scene illustrates the frenzied paranoia that corporate media culture creates and disseminates to the public. To capitalize upon our fears and insecurities, these same cultural engineers encourage us to find safety and security through material gain, chasing after elusive and ultimately self-destructive ideals.
